About Us
Mark Dillon
Co-HostStarting out as a software developer during Y2K Mark has been a driving force in municipal broadband, SCADA information security and fiber optic networks across Ontario Canada. As a longtime supporter of the Intelligent Community Form, Mark brings a unique perspective when it comes to innovation surrounding smart communities, internet of things and the social effects of the ever-growing intrusion/benefits technology has in our day to day lives.
Joel Duffield
Co-HostTL;DR Joel would like to move from “Hello IT, have your tried turning it off and on again” to “You truly belong here with us among the clouds.”
From his roots as a grunt migrating people kicking and screaming from Windows 2000 (sound familiar) at an MSP, through the library world and on into his role as a small town sysadmin, Joel has spent most of his 15 year career in the Municipal IT space.
His passion for hard core tech has more more recently been replaced by an obsession with the theory of IT practice, from “The Goal” to “Adventures of an IT leader”. He is a ferocious Audible and podcast listener and wears out several sets of earbuds a year.
Most likely to be heard saying: “Technical Debt” or “Culture Change”.
